Rooted in generations of Colombian coffee-growing tradition, Huila’s Río Negro Farm was founded when their family moved from the renowned Coffee Triangle regions of Quindío, Risaralda, and Caldas in the 1960s and 70s. Originally established by their grandparents and later managed by their father, the farm has remained family-owned ever since, built on hard work, resilience, and a passion for exceptional coffee.
What began with traditional Colombia, Caturra, and Typica varieties has evolved into a modern specialty coffee farm focused on quality and innovation. Today, Río Negro cultivates standout varieties including Pink Bourbon, Bourbon Ají, Tabi, and Yellow Bourbon, carefully grown to showcase the unique character of the region.
Producing around 30,000 kg of dry parchment coffee each year, the farm is dedicated primarily to specialty-grade coffees — crafted with care, tradition, and a commitment to excellence in every cup.
This coffee is a vibrant and expressive coffee crafted from the Typica varietal using co-fermentation, anaerobic processing, and a clean washed finish. This innovative method enhances sweetness, complexity, and fruity aromatics while preserving the clarity and balance of the cup.
